Terms of Use

Last updated 26 July 2026

These terms govern your use of Beat the Gaffer at beatthegaffer.com (the “game”). By playing, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the game.

The game

Beat the Gaffer is a Premier League prediction game: you predict fixtures against an AI pundit (“the Gaffer”) and score points. The core game is free to play; some optional tiers and extras are paid (see “Subscriptions and billing” below). It’s for entertainment. It is not betting or gambling, no stake is required, and nothing here is betting advice.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Some tiers and extras are paid. Prices are shown before you buy, and payments are handled securely by our payment processor (Stripe); we never see or store your full card number.
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the period you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Except where the law requires otherwise (for example your statutory cancellation rights), payments already made are non-refundable.
  • Deleting your account cancels any active subscription.

Your account

  • You’re responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in secure.
  • You must be at least 13 to play.
  • The information you give us (such as your email) must be accurate.

Fair play and conduct

When using the game, you agree not to:

  • choose a display name that is offensive, impersonates someone, or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • abuse, harass or threaten other players;
  • cheat, script, scrape, or interfere with the game or its systems;
  • use the game for anything unlawful.

We may hide a display name, or suspend or remove an account, that breaches these terms. You can report another player’s name from their profile.

Your content

You keep ownership of the display name and choices you set. You grant us a licence to show them within the game (for example on leaderboards and shareable images) so the game can work.

Prizes and competitions

Any prize draw or competition we run will have its own specific rules, published at the time. Where a prize is offered, it is free to enter, with no purchase or stake required.

Availability

We aim to keep the game available but can’t guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and results and scores may be corrected if a data error occurs.

Our liability

The game is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for loss arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending your use

You can stop playing and delete your account at any time (Profile → Delete account). We may end or restrict your access if you breach these terms.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; we’ll change the “last updated” date above when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions: hello@mikelitman.me.
